Meeting Followup and Ice Dice
Good morning, race fans!
Just a couple of things. At last night’s board meeting (very short because it was followed up by the Christmas party), a member asked whether or not we have informed membership of the need for people to step into Board positions. We have, but here we are again because it’s important. We currently need to fill the following positions: president, solo/autocross director, social director, and Broken Spoke editor. If one of those is you, let us know! We’ll be glad to help get you started. No particular skills or experience are needed – just a desire to help make the good stuff happen. Some GOOD NEWS: Dan Smith has requested to take on the position of Race Director, and we’re very glad to see him there. What is our club without a bit of road racing in the summer, after all. Thank you, Dan!
The Christmas party last night at the clubhouse was a great success. Lots of fun, great food, cold beer. Thank you not only to those who came out to it, but especially to Rob Jackett and his crew for all the hard work they put in to cook, decorate, and make it happen. It’s the first one the club has been able to have for some years, and everyone enjoyed it.
And finally, we’ll be out on the ice at Lake MacGregor for Ice Dice in just a few weeks. The first of four events will be on . You can find info and register here: It’s worth mentioning that this is the least expensive way to race and you can use your family sedan, if you want to. No cages, no door-to-door; just good tires (studded or not, your choice), a helmet, and some safety tech’ing to make sure you aren’t going to leak fluids everywhere. If this is something you’d like to try for the sake of learning how to drive better on ice, we’re here for that, too.
As always, if you have questions or comments, fire ‘em our way.
Best,
Jamie Gray
