2007 Kananaskis Rally
2007 Kananaskis Rally

Contrail Rally Racing

Contrail Rally Racing is pleased to be competing at the 2007 Kananaskis Rally, our second event of the season. The team is made up of Philip Garlick driving, Travis Charland co-driving, and good support from family and friends. Philip has been stage rallying for the past four years, and Kananaskis will be his sixth stage event. Travis is new to stage rally this year and Kananaskis will be his second event. Philip and Travis will be competing their Honda CRX in P2.

Unable to have the car built for the start of the season, our first event was the 2007 Rocky Mountain Rally. This was Travis's first event as co-driver, and was a great success for the team, finishing first in class and 18th out of 36 cars over-all. Although not eligable for any championship title, the team plan to continue learning, and to do their best through the spectacular Kananaskis scenery.

Alliance Rally Racing

Alliance Rally Racing (ARR) is coming back to Kananaskis. After a successful run at Rocky Mountain Rally (2007), Mountain Trials in Merritt (2007), as well as PFR (2007), the team is looking forward to coming back to the region for Kananaskis (2007). This time Al Watson from ARR’s service crew will Co-Pilot for the team. Al is very mechanically knowledgeable and will be making his debut in the Co-Driver’s seat. Chris Maydaniuk will be there for support, coaching, and service; he will be graduating with his MBA in December at which point he will be back in full-force. ARR has been focusing on technique and personal development this season; they have been rewarded with continued progression and consistent finishes throughout the current season. The team is looking forward to seeing everyone back on the road at Kananaskis and wishes each and every competitor the very best!

Mark Jennings-Bates and Jennifer Daly will be competing again in the 2007 Kananaskis Rally with the goal of finishing on the top podium position. The car has been carefully worked on by a team of volunteers from the Subaru community in Kelowna and is well prepared for the mild winter conditions expected at this weekends event. "I really enjoy this event" said Jennings-Bates, adding "Powder Face must be one of the most enjoyable stages on the Western Canadian circuit and can be particularly challenging with the winter conditions, we are looking forward to some great competition"

Gopher Rally

http://gopherrally.blogspot.com/

The Gopher Rally Racing team will consist of Driver Chad LePoudre of Warman, SK (currently Saskatchewan’s only stage rally competitor), and Co-Driver John Hall of Sherwood Park, AB for the 2007 edition of the Kananaskis Rally. This will be the first time the duo has competed at this event and is hoping for a weekend of fun and a good finish.

This will be the fifth rally for Chad LePoudre and the 1988 VW Golf rally car. The primary goal for rallies to date has been to finish without breaking the car, while hoping for a decent result at the same time. There will be no difference in that philosophy for this rally, although a new engine added during the summer of 2007 has given the team the ability to be more competitive with the rest of the field.

The team is very much looking forward to the event, as well as the visiting with the other competitors who have also become ‘fast’ friends (pun intended!).

Kris and Jaclyn Schofield of Ista Rally are really excited to be back after sitting out the last two rallies. With 4th and 3rd place finishes here in the last two years this makes it one of the teams favorite events and they are looking forward to try and repeat those results again this year. “We are looking forward to the competition and to meet up with everyone again. Good luck to all and lets see everyone at the finish!”

Ista Rally would like to thank our sponsors Rosche Racing, Louren Sansregret Photography and Ronin-racing.com and our service crew Maurie Loewen.

ASBO Racing

The Kananaskis Rally will be ASBO Racing’s fifth event, and completes our 2007 season. After a grueling but successful rally at PFR, the car is almost repaired and should be back together again in time to compete! John and Josh wish all the competitors at Kananaskis a fun and safe event!

Sea of Green Rally

After a painful DNF at PFR the Volvo has been rebuilt by D&K Automotive Repairs, and is running better than ever. And while snow and ice are not friends of RWD, we will still put on a great show for the last race of the season. We are hoping to finish top 10 overall at this rally, and top 10 overall in the Western Canadian Rally Championships. Good luck to all the competitors, and a big thank you to all the volunteers.

BME Racing

This is the first year we have been racing, and have had great fun adjusting to the challenges of the various roads, conditions, and attemtping to stay competitive. Our goal is to finish, with the car and us intact, and have a good placing in this rally, making the right tire choice this time. It will be great to see all of our co-competitors again, and wish them all well!
