The Loop Rally for 2009 will run overnight on Sept 19/20th.

This is a TSD, so we won't be travelling at warp speed, but some auxiluary lights would not do any harm.

There will be an informative Q&A Session for competitors new to TSD rallying from 16:30 to 17:30 on Sept 19th.

The rally will use straight-forward navigation in a Regularity / Monte Carlo format, including challenging driving sections. Some driving proficiency will be required due to the night schedule and the nature of the event.

2009 Loop Rally

This edition of the Loop Rally seems to have had a very proficient bunch of competitors, including some calculator demons! The roads were not as challenging as some past Loops, but the weather did it's best to make up for it with some heavy downpours during the second leg.

After a little bug fixing in the scoring spreadsheet we now have some final results which are a little different to the preliminaries on Sunday morning.

Congratulations to Jamie and Cindy for their win, and to Richard and Helen for their second spot - but they had better not get too complacent. Behind them are three novice crews with 70 points or less who are all obviously capable of taking overall positions.

Bill and Jacqueline had a fantastic run to first novice / third overall, narrowly beating Mark and Matt , and not that far ahead of Matt and Dan.

The hard luck story of the night has to be Jason and Shanes run in with a piece of rather solid scenery, causing the motor to emit some expensive sounding noises - I hope it's not as bad as it sounded!

I can't say enough about our dedicated volunteers who give up so much time so everyone can play - Penny at registration, Kurt doing MTC's and scoring, Travis and Keith in sweep, controls were Eric, Shawn, Spencer, John, and Kris & Jaclyn who can time two at once!

And I'm particularly grateful to Geoff for driving the 0 car- If I'd tried we'd still be pulling it out of a ditch somewhere!

Maximum number of entries is 25.
Minimum number of entries is 6 cars - if that number of paid entries is not received by the draw date the event will be cancelled.

There will be a draw at 21:00 Thursday September 17th, to determine starting order.
Any entry received after this time will be assigned numbers in the order received.

WCMA/CARS Club Members (both crew members) $75 per car
Non WCMA/CARS Club Members $85 per car.
