2013 Hunting of the Snark TSD Rally SNARK IS POSTPONED UNTIL Sunday November 24th While the event is geared towards beginners, due to the nature of the roads (gravel/mud/dirt/snow/ice?) some driving proficiency will be required. In addition to an insured, registered and maintained vechicle, you will require proper tires, first aid kit and 30cm warning triangle. (see our sponsor if you need equipment). A set of mudflaps are also recommended and since this event will run into darkness decent headlights would do no harm. For teams wishing to learn the basic navigational and mathematical skills required for TSD rallying there will be a novice school before the event. Please RSVP the Organiser (via email) if you wish to attend. This is a great way to shake off the rust before the Loop Rally on December 14th & 15th. The snark runs on straight-forward instructions and will be about 250km long, entirely within the province of Alberta. An odometer check section of about 10km will be provided. Roads will be about 30% pavement, 70% gravel and all mileage will be provided in KM units.

Final Results Monday November 25, 2013 - 12:00 Congrats to Novices Dave Wilson and Ryan Vincent on getting lost the least and avoiding the snowbanks! There are a pair of engraved beer mugs headed your way. The Road Rally Handbook door prize went to Rion Valentino. As always a huge thanks to our volunteers: Matt Pullen, Trevor Coughlan, Penny Mellor, Brad Derzaph and Dave Ma... these events won't happen without your support. The Loop Rally is less than 3 weeks away running in the Sundre area on December 14th-15th. The website and schedule will be updated shortly. See you around! - Kurt

Bulletins Sunday November 17, 2013 - 21:30 Reschduled for Sunday November 24th, same time & location etc. Sunday November 17, 2013 - 12:15 SNARK IS POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND I have made a huge mistake with the liability insurance will have to move the event to next Saturday or Sunday the 23rd/24th. I will be calling everyone shortly and of course will be over at the clubhouse for the novice school if people show up today. Saturday November 16, 2013 - 10:30 Ran through the route last night to make sure all of the bridges were still up... they were. If you have studded tires kicking around you should put them on since it was about 90% hard packed snow/ice... and now we have a foot or so of fresh powder! :) I only took a sigle picture with the cellphone. The fog eliminated the high beams for almost the entire route. Saturday November 09, 2013 - 12:30 The event is looking like a small intimate affair. Conditions are changing but we expect bare gravel with icy snow covered sections. Winter tires are recommended! Saturday September 28, 2013 - 20:00 Registration is now open and the Supplemental Regulations are available for download. We also have a copy of the Road Rally Handbook to be drawn on paid entries received before November 9th. |
